bad_pennyThis is Aithilin here. I've been "Aithilin" since before I've actually had Internet service-- over a decade, really. Well over a decade.
I came up with the name when I was heavily into Lord of the Rings and realized that I could actually post the silly little stories I've come up with, and people would read them. It was derived from a loose grasp of Sindarin, and a whole lot of teenage arrogance that had me focusing on the value of academics over developing my own style and narrative ideas.
The name, "Aithilin", the persona that went with it, stuck.
But things change.
Ideally, I'd like to adapt everything being worked on under that particular pseudonym and move it here. I'm not looking to separate the names, accounts, or personae; but rather merge them to better suit who I am now. I'm not the girl who made up "Aithilin" any more-- I don't have dreams of elegance and eloquence fuelled by an interest in Tolkien-style world building.
So here comes the new face.
I've used the name "Bad Penny" on and off for a handful of weeks, and started to get a feel for it. A few friends who were in on the idea to the switch agreed that it was catchier, suited me better, or was just more interesting. And here it is.
I'm still not sure the extent on how to use this persona-- whether I'll just start fresh stories and abandon "Aithilin" properly once those stories are finished, or of I'll make a full switch over. I'm open to suggestions. Hell, at the moment, it's looking more like I'll be keeping "Bad Penny" as a sort of personal blog, at the moment.
